Selection Process

The selection process is always individually geared to the position that you are applying for, so it would be difficult to detail here exactly what you can expect.

However, we’ll always ensure that it’s relevant to the position that you’ve applied to, that it’s fair, and that it takes account of any special circumstances you may have advised us of. In all instances, we’ll make sure that you’re given adequate notification of an interview, so you can begin the appropriate preparation.

Preparing for the Interview

We’re not looking to teach you how to ‘get through’ an interview - only you can do that. But by observing a few simple rules, you can maximize your chances of coming across as confident, knowledgeable and a real team player.

  • Above all, be well prepared - plan your route, set off early, decide what you want to wear, have any documentation you may need ready - and try to anticipate any problems.
  • Gather information about us beforehand - what we do, our current projects, what other interests we have. Be prepared to show you have done your homework (but don't spend valuable interview time merely point-scoring!)
  • Remember, we’re interested in you as a person - in your experiences and opinions. In many cases, how well you might ‘fit’ is just as important as your technical skills. So take the time to sit down before the interview and think about yourself, who you are and what you’ve achieved (as well as the best way of presenting it).
  • As well as documenting your past, also be ready to talk about your ambitions and the sort of future you want from us; remember, the interview is a two-way process - you need to be sure you want to join us too!
  • Be aware of your body language - it can speak volumes about your true feelings and to an interviewer skilled in such things, your non-verbal signals can be extremely revealing.
  • And finally, be honest! Don’t be tempted to try and talk your way into a job that you can’t handle, or exaggerate your contribution in previous roles or projects.
